Playground

On Friday mornings we take a few childen to the church playground. On a recent morning Michelor, 11, proposed marriage to Natasha.

Claudine was not sure what to do on her first visit. She mostly just watched the others. She let me hold her too.

Kervens plays ball with Deedee's boys. Gertie and Richardson are right at home on the equipment of playing ball or making up games. Isna was shy at first but caught on pretty quickly.

Finances

Our funding comes through Christian Light Ministries, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida, a 501(c)(3) corporation. CLF deducts 5% for its administrative expenses, currently $420 per month for my medical insurance, and then deposits the rest in my bank account.

CLF does not raise funds for me or their other missionaries. They simply funnel donations through to us and make sure we are doing what we tell our supporters. They provide receipts and 1099s to donors. I am directly responsible for raising my own support.

The children's home here operates just like a family at home. All funds go into the pot and we meet everyone's needs from the pot. Infants, sick and malnourished children need more expensive food than healthy children and need more staff to care for them.

We need about $7500 a month for normal operating expenses, rent and other large expenses. I believe in transparency: questions are welcome.
